Yes, SimpliSafe is easy to cancel. Don’t be intimidated by the required phone call. The customer service reps will ask why you want to cancel, but they’re not judging you—it’s just an internal survey so the company can keep an eye on cancellation trends.
They may also try to offer you a deal. Just say you’re not interested. In our experience, SimpliSafe isn’t pushy.

Can I cancel SimpliSafe through the app?
No, you can’t cancel through the SimpliSafe app. There’s also no online cancellation option.

Does SimpliSafe charge a cancellation fee?
No, SimpliSafe doesn’t charge any cancellation fees.

Do I need to return my SimpliSafe equipment after canceling my monitoring plan?
No, the SimpliSafe security system is yours to keep. 
In fact, SimpliSafe equipment works as a basic home alarm without any monitoring service. If someone breaks in while the system is armed, the base station siren will sound, which might be enough to scare them off and alert the neighbors. 
That’s a big “might,” though, which is why we recommend professional monitoring whenever possible.

Can I restart my SimpliSafe plan at a later date?
Yes, SimpliSafe lets you start and stop services at any time. If you want to restart or upgrade, you can do so through the SimpliSafe home security app. Call customer service if you want to pause or downgrade.

Can I cancel SimpliSafe and give my equipment to someone else?
Yes, you can transfer your SimpliSafe system. First, call SimpliSafe to cancel. Then, the new equipment owner can create a SimpliSafe account and activate a monitoring plan with that equipment.

I live in the UK. How do I end my SimpliSafe contract?
SimpliSafe UK customers should call 0800-920-2420 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to end the contract. Note that SimpliSafe’s UK cancellation department is closed on the weekends even though the main customer service line does maintain weekend hours.
