Celebrities—they’re just like us! Unfortunately, that extends to falling victim to crimes like home break-ins. Most recently, actress and “Red Table Talk” host Jada Pinkett Smith was at home when two individuals attempted to break into her Los Angeles area home.
According to a TMZ report, the incident occurred just before 8 p.m. one evening last week when two men wearing hoodies climbed onto her balcony, apparently under the impression that the coast was clear. However, their plans were thwarted when Jada Pinkett Smith spotted them. It’s reported that upon seeing the intruders, she alerted the authorities, prompting a police response. By the time law enforcement arrived, the suspects had already fled the scene.
Authorities are investigating the matter, although it remains unclear whether Jada Pinkett Smith was specifically targeted or if her home was part of a broader pattern of burglaries in the area. Pinkett Smith’s home is the newest addition to a string of break-ins in Los Angeles. Recent victims include Squid Game star Lee Byung-hun, actress Lena Waithe, model Abigail Ratchford, and John Wick himself—Keanu Reeves.

Tips to prevent a break-in
It’s very uncommon for burglaries to occur when the homeowner is inside. This incident underscores the importance of being proactive when it comes to home security. Here are some essential tips to help prevent break-ins:

Install security cameras: Surveillance cameras can deter potential intruders and offer valuable evidence in the event of a break-in.
Secure entry points: Make sure that all doors and windows have sturdy locks and look at adding extra security measures like deadbolts and window bars.
Illuminate your property: Adequate outdoor lighting can help deter burglars by eliminating hiding spots and making your home more visible to neighbors and passersby.
Invest in a security system: We recommend installing a monitored home security system that includes motion detectors and alarms for added protection—and faster help in an emergency.
Maintain vigilance: Pay attention to reports or burglaries and other suspicious activity in your neighborhood and keep an eye out for people or cars that don’t belong. Let neighbors and law enforcement know about anything that sets off your internal alarm bells.
